On December 2, 2010 the Minister of Social Services, the Honourable June Draude, announced increases in benefits for people with disabilities. The first change is an increase to earnings exemption for people with disabilities on both SAID and SAP. The second change is an increased inheritance exemption for people enrolled on the SAID program. The second change is the first time that action has been taken to separate the new SAID program from the SAP program.
