An important step towards the implementation of the new disability income program was to select a name and identity for the new program. The new name and identity establishes the program as separate and unique from social assistance. The name for the program will be: Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability – SAID (pronounced like ‘he said, she said’).

The selection of a name took into consideration the principles and purpose of the new program. The name acknowledges the long–term financial support need for people with disabilities.
